So, there is something absolutely magical about Disney! Something that attracts the young and old alike. It's such a genuinely happy place! I have been there many times with my family. We take the 24 hour drive and have a great time along the way. Disney runs through my blood is a joke I often make with my friends. If I could live there, I absolutely would!
So, when I was given an opportunity to have a Disney Kids Preschool Playdate, you bet I jumped on the opportunity! We invited friends and family to get together on Easter weekend. However, our party stayed small as everyone seemed to be out of town or to be busy. No matter...I used it as a unique opportunity to meet the newest addition to my family - my nephew! What a blessing this little man has been in our lives! He warmed right up to this crazy bunch and we had quite a blast celebrating all things Disney!
In preparation for our fun afternoon, I cut out pictures of some of my favorite Disney characters. I have memories of standing in line with my children waiting to meet these characters. Looking at these images brought back memories of long waits that were made so worth it when the children got a hug from the Princess or a high five from Mickey! I still remember my son blushing after he got a kiss on the cheek from Cinderella: "She kith me! She kith me!" The memories from Disney kept flooding back after each bit of preparation that took place.
My daughter was excited to make some Mickey cupcakes she found on Pinterest! She's quite the crafty girl and had a blast creating these beauties on her own!
What did our party consist of? We had a fun game of Guess the Disney Character that brought in the young and the old to guessing who they were holding just given clues. It was great watching grandpa try to guess who he was holding as my 5 year old shouted out clues!
The day wouldn't have been complete without a fun storytime. My favorite memory of the day? After I read the story, my nephew took the book and read it to us as only a two year old could! He showed expression and made sure he took time so that each person could see what the pictures looked like! He was so proud.
This girl is ready to go to Disney, complete with her Sofia the First Wheeled Luggage from American Tourister!
We will be headed to Walt Disney World within the next couple of years. Our money is always tight, but it's funny how we can always find a way to make Disney work! This summer my children will get to experience Disneyland for the first time! Can't wait - don't worry! I'll be sure to share pictures!
One thing I tell everyone who goes to Disney...don't get caught up in the stress. With four kids, for me, that is very easy to happen! But, I don't. I take deep breaths. I enjoy the moment. I take it all in. Because my children will never experience Disney the same way as they did at that very moment. Enjoy it...every second of it! It's a vacation of a lifetime - every time we go! Each and every time, before we even get on the road, we are set to planning the next trip. So, enjoy the moments. Enjoy the seconds. They go so fast!
