Bastille Days is THIS weekend, July 9 - July 12.
This FREE fest features live music, food, street acts and an international marketplace.
Bastille Days, Milwaukee’s popular French festival and one of the nation’s largest French-themed celebrations, returns to downtown Milwaukee’s Cathedral Square Park, July 9 – 12. The free, four-day bash attracts over 250,000 visitors annually who enjoy live music, an international marketplace, chef and wine demos, French and Cajun cuisine, roaming busker entertainment and a signature 43-foot Eiffel Tower replica offering hourly light shows.
Thursday, July 9: Opening Day
The first 1,000 guests to march to Bastille Days will enjoy free cake, compliments of Metro Market, beginning at 12 p.m.
The annual BMO Harris Bank Storm the Bastille 5K run / walk, kicks off at 9 p.m. at the corner of Jefferson and Wells Streets. Participants will join over 5,000 runners through the streets of Downtown Milwaukee and the Historic Third Ward.
Run registration is $20 in advance or $25 on the day of the run / walk. Go here for more information and / or to register.
Friday, July 10
Kilbourn Avenue transforms into Bourbon Street with three Mardi Gras-themed parades at 8:30, 9:30 and 10:30 p.m.
Saturday, July 11: Kids' Day
Kick off Kids' Day with a French-themed breakfast at the Beignets Français tent from 10 a.m. to noon.
There will also be entertainment from the Milwaukee Ballet and fun challenges by the Milwaukee Bucks, Milwaukee Admirals and Lakeshore Chinooks from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Other Kids' Day highlights include mini French lessons, a caricature artist, hands-on activities from Milwaukee Art Museum's Kohl's Color Wheels and hand magic.
Sunday, July 12
Local bars and restaurants compete in the annual Waiter / Waitress Race at 3 p.m. on Sunday. More than a dozen servers take part in the challenging obstacle course, all while balancing full wine glasses.
