My March of Dimes #imbornto Party - How You Can Help Support March of Dimes

I feel truly honored to have the privilege of being part of a team of 39 moms, representing the length of a full-term pregnancy, the MoDSquad.  I met with some of my best friends for lemonades and shared with them the March of Dimes #imbornto campaign.

During my get together with some of my favorite ladies, we talked about our pregnancies.  We talked about our children and how very blessed we all are in the grand scheme of things.  I am so excited as I await the birth of my niece/nephew and I also have a great-niece/nephew due a few days later!

As many of you already know, I have been blessed with four children.  There isn't a day that goes by that I don't count my lucky stars and praise God for these little feet that run through my house tracking mud and causing a ruckus.  Okay, there might be a few seconds...wait, minutes...noooo...hours...that go by where I am a bit overwhelmed and going completely out of my gourd!  But, I have to stop in the moment and really channel my inner-calm and remember - this is just a fleeting second.  These days are just a small smidgen in such a long journey for my family.  All the crazy.  All the chaos.  I wouldn't change it for the world!

My last pregnancy was a rough one.  I was on bed rest.  If someone can tell me how to do that with a working husband and three young children all under the age of 6, let me know!  I was on bed rest and it was a very scary time for my family.  I had Pre-Eclampsia and it was a big red flag considering my mother lost her first baby from Toxemia (what Pre-Eclampsia was termed at that time).  So, my doctor was very concerned.  I was having Braxton-Hicks contractions fairly early on and had kidney stones, so everyone was concerned about my health, as well as this bundle growing inside of me.

My due date was approaching and my doctor was telling me I had to be induced.  She was worried because my blood pressure was not good.  Then, I got the news...some of the worst news I have ever gotten in my life.  My sister made a visit to let me know that my mother was being read her last rites as we spoke and she wasn't going to make it very much longer.  My mother was dying.  Those days were all a blur, but I do remember talking with my little man and asking him to hang on for me.  I didn't want to be induced (I had been with my second child and it was VERY painful - I did all natural child births, no drugs for this mama).  But...as much as I fought it, I had to be induced before my due date because my little man (did I say little?!?!  Is 9 pounds 12 ounces little?!?!?) was in danger and, quite frankly, so was I!  My blood pressure was through the roof!

I was blessed to be able to bring my "little" man home just days after his birth, but I know there are so many others out there that aren't as fortunate as we have been.  Knowing my mother had her first son die of Toxemia makes me realize just how far research has come and how many breakthroughs have happened over the years!  I now have a healthy, happy four year old who is one of the biggest blessings in my life!

March of Dimes CARES!  What a blessing that March of Dimes has been throughout the years in the Community to help Advocate, Research, Educate, and Support families.

I was sent a package of goodies from some of the partners of the March of Dimes. I made sure to share the goodies with my dear friends for them to pass along.
