Welke’s House of Roses to host pinktastic floral design night
October is the month of red apples, orange leaves and . . . pink flowers?
October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month (NBCAM), and since the color pink represents breast cancer awareness, it’s also the star of A Pinktastic Ladies’ Design Night, a floral design event being held on Friday, October 11th at Welke’s House of Roses in Elm Grove. The evening features appetizers, floral design instruction and prizes. A Welke’s designer will guide participants as they create a specific arrangement featuring pink flowers. Welke’s will donate a portion of the event’s profits to Susan G Komen for the Cure, an organization supporting breast cancer awareness and research.
“We’re excited to host an event that is both fun and meaningful,” says Welke’s Vice-President Nikki Lemler. “Breast cancer has affected so many families, including families of our staff members. The pink-themed arrangement and donation to Susan G Komen for the Cure are a small way to recognize that.” Welke’s participates regularly in the Susan G Komen Southeast Wisconsin Race for the Cure (held in late September) by donating pink roses to breast cancer survivors at the event.(some of the roses donated pictured below).
So, bring your girlfriends, family members or simply yourself and join Welke’s (1020 Legion Dr, Elm Grove) on Friday, October 11th from 5:30-7:00 PM for a night of pinktacular creativity! Call 262-786-1040 to reserve your spot. Cost is $50 per person; however, Welke’s is offering a special price of $39.99/person to the first four who sign up. Price includes appetizers, design instruction, materials and a raffle entry. No design experience necessary. Space is limited to ten guests. 10% of the proceeds will be donated to Southeast Wisconsin chapter of Susan G Komen for the Cure.
