EEK! This is what greeted us as we walked into the first exhibit area at the Kenosha Public Museum.
We had a great half a day in Kenosha yesterday and suggest you check out the fun activities. We had a couple stops but here is our first...The Kenosha Public Museum is located right by the lakefront, the breeze was very nice. It is right next to the Civil War Museum (we will have to go back for a trip there).
The Museum is FREE however they do suggest a $2 donation per person. (We did do this. :)) There are three exhibits, on the first floor you will find a little geology area, Native American exhibits, a dinosaur and a few other historically interesting things. We then headed upstairs to look at the sports memorabilia and the art collection. There was an artist actively painting, so that was neat to see. We then headed back downstairs to the children's Field Room where you can color, look at books, look through binoculars, touch stuff and just have some hands on fun. Niecey enjoyed trying to look through the binoculars and liked the felt board wall.
I would say plan on staying about 45 minutes, really it depends on how long you like to study and read about the exhibits. We had Niecey with us and since she is only 18 months old she wasn't reading anything but liked looking at the fish, shiny things and she liked the Field Room. The gift shop seemed to have pretty reasonable prices, we picked up a magnet that says "Kenosha Public Museum".
We suggest checking it out, it was fun and very affordable. :)
